About This Model
The Aero City was an update on the original Sega City, featuring a much larger 26" monitor. You could consider it the original Candy Cabinet, the first one that was painted bright white with colorful accents as an attempt to brighten the image of game centers in the late 1980's. As an all-metal cabinet, it's very sturdy. The control panel assembly attaches solidly to the cabinet and there's no flex whatsoever. Despite the monitor lacking a remote board, you can make picture adjustments from the front after lifting the front hood.
Cons of the Aero compared to other cabinets are the lack of a built-in volume control, necessitating using the volume control on the PCB (a volume control can be modded in if desired), and that the horizontal width is adjusted via a coil instead of a potentiometer, which requires a plastic adjuster tool. At 110kg, the cabinet is also a bit heavy for its size.
