Cabinet Details
Control panel is a 1L6B Blast panel. We can include a brand-new reproduction Blast 2L12B from Alberto (unpopulated) for an extra $140.
This cabinet has the Nanao MS-2933 monitor, a later revision of the 293X series mostly used in the Net City. The tube and chassis have been thoroughly cleaned. The tube has a small amount of burn from text at the top and bottom of the screen. We would rate it a level 2. The image is bright and sharp. There are some convergence issues in the corners, as is common on these monitors, but they can be improved with convergence strips.
The overall cabinet quality is exceptionally good. Side stickers are mostly intact and have very little yellowing, and the cabinet is really clean inside and out.
Those familiar with the Blast City will know that the body almost always has cracks around the lower corners of the control panel assembly. This cabinet has no visible crack on the left side and only a very small one on the right, less than we've seen on any other Blast. There is one small crack at the top of the left speaker grille and another behind the bezel above the lower-right monitor mount.
The speakers have rotted-out foam, as is usual for Blast City speakers. They do work but they will sound much better if you replace them.
The power supply fan has been replaced and is quiet.
Keyed for Sega 5575. The coin door is locked and no cash box key is included, let us know if you want it drilled out before shipping.
The cabinet in the photos is the specific one for this listing.
About This Model
After the New Astro City, Sega went on to make the Blast City: it's a lot like the Astro, but taller and more imposing, equipped with an audio amp, a tri-sync monitor, and beefier speakers beside the monitor instead of on top. Blasts can be fiddly after almost three decades of wear & tear, but there's plenty to love about them, too.
